This workshop is aimed at 12 to 13 year olds and is best described as something of a cross between Dragon’s Den, The X Factor and The Apprentice.

Up to 36 young people will get the opportunity to work with nine local business mentors in teams of four to five at the fun day workshop in the GAA Clubhouse – Shane McGettigan Park, Drumshanbo on Saturday, August 6.

Each team will work with a business idea and explore how to evaluate an idea, how to cost a product or service and how to overcome challenges in bringing businesses ideas to the market place.

At the end of the day each team will get to present their brilliant business idea in a two minute sales pitch which will be up-loaded onto youtube. Each team will have five days to promote their videos to friends and family on line using techniques learned within the workshop.

On Sunday, August 14 a special prize giving ceremony will be had to recognise the most watched and most commented on video presentation; the best product/idea (as voted by mentors); the best team presentation (as voted by mentors); the best team (as voted by mentors) and the best individual presentation (as voted by mentors).

The winner will also get the chance to meet with Dragon’s Den Judge and Presidential candidate, Sean Gallagher, on August 30!
